Cyprus Double Tax Treaties

Cyprus has signed Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements with 62 countries by now and is in negotiations with several other countries. 

The Tax Treaties of Cyprus follow the standards of OECD Model Convention, - with the exemption of the Cyprus-US Treaty which follows the most recent United States Agreements.

The main purpose of the Double Taxation Treaty is the avoidance of double taxation of income earned in any of these countries. Under the treaties, a credit is usually allowed against the tax levied by the country the tax payer resides for the tax levied in the other treaty country and as a result of this the tax payers pays no more than the higher of the two rates.

Cyprus has signed a Double Tax Avoidance Agreement with the below countries:
